It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Polytechnic College, Yanam, a Government institution established to cater to the technical education needs of this region. Our goal is to provide quality diploma education with a strong foundation in engineering concepts, hands-on skills and professional ethics.

To emerge as a centre of excellence in diploma-level technical education, empowering students from Yanam and surrounding regions with knowledge, skills and values to meet global challenges and contribute meaningfully to industry and society.
Administrative and academic hierarchy of the institution.
The college functions under the control of PIPMATE and the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education, Government of Puducherry. The Principal leads the institution, supported by Heads of Departments, academic coordinators, lecturers, laboratory assistants, attenders and administrative staff to ensure smooth academic and administrative functioning.
Diploma programmes and supporting sections of the college.
The Department of Computer Engineering focuses on programming, data structures, databases, operating systems and networking, with strong emphasis on practical skills through modern computer laboratories and project work.
The ECE department covers electronic devices, circuits, communication systems, digital electronics and embedded systems. The department has obtained NBA accreditation for its quality academic processes and student outcomes.
The Civil Engineering department trains students in building construction, surveying, structural engineering and environmental engineering, supporting infrastructure development in and around Yanam region.
The supporting sections such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, Physical Education, Library and Administration contribute to the holistic development of students and smooth functioning of the institution.

The students of this college have secured 1st place in semester examinations and have been college toppers and diploma toppers for several years in Yanam region as well as among other Polytechnic colleges of the U.T. of Puducherry.

Higher education progression, campus selections and training programmes.
On the academic front, the college is improving its performance year after year. Many of the final year students have secured admission into B.Tech / B.E. courses in various engineering colleges in Puducherry and neighbouring states.
Attractive campus recruitment drives have been conducted and a good number of diploma students have been placed in reputed organisations. Notably, 22 passed-out diploma students were recruited by M/s. Whirlpool India Pvt. Ltd., Puducherry and M/s. Synra Software Company, Chennai during June and August 2018.
A specialised “Suryamitra” IOM Professional Training Programme on solar panel installation and storage was organised by M/s. Surabhi Educational Society, Hyderabad for 30 passed-out diploma students in the college campus for a period of three months (March–May 2017).
In all aspects of competition and challenge for better employment opportunities, the college is continuously striving to support and enhance each student’s career.
Institutional achievements and recognitions.
The Department of Agriculture, Yanam selected Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Polytechnic College, Yanam for the Best Maintenance of Garden award on the occasion of the 19th Flower Show and 16th Yanam Festival in January 2018. The award was received from Thiru Malladi Krishna Rao, Hon’ble Minister for Health and Tourism, Government of Puducherry.
