The National Service Scheme (NSS) at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Polytechnic College, Yanam works under the motto “NOT ME, BUT YOU” and focuses on developing socially responsible citizens through voluntary community service.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunities to student youth of schools, colleges, technical institutions and universities to participate in government-led community service programmes.
NSS was launched in 1969 in 37 Universities involving about 40,000 volunteers and has now grown to cover over 657 Universities, 20,669 Colleges/Technical Institutions and nearly 11,988 Senior Secondary Schools, benefiting more than 7.4 crore students.
